Scope: Install and Design FRP Strengthening
Structural Systems designed supplied and installed approximately 6000m of carbon fibre strengthening to allow the change of use of this iconic structure into a sleek retail and commercial space. The roof level was particularly challenging for Structural Systems design team; with live loads increasing significantly and the client requirement for a Building Maintenance Unit to run around the perimeter of the roof structure, which cantilevers at the external corners, coupled with a roof poured monolithically to falls, meant a careful and complex analysis to determine the eventual CFRP solution.
